American Society for Information Science and Technology

As the president of the student chapter of ASIS&T at UA, I wanted to get as many professionals and student together as possible.  During my tenure we had two speakers. 

Online Question-Answering: Virtual Referencing to Social Q&A and Back 
     We used the Wimba platform to have an event in Alabama, with a speaker at Rutgers in New Jersey and attended by students from all across the country.

Night at the Athenaeum


As part of my duties as the intern at the Kenensaw State Department of Archives, Rare Books, and records Management, I had the opportunity to plan and advertise events at the new gallery space that just opened up, the Athenaeum.  Using my close contacts with various departments I was able to secure a variety of speakers.

I also helped with Coffee with the Curator, the other outreach initiative at the KSU Dept of Archives, Rare Books, and Records Management.  I was tasked with the advertising campaign for these events.
